DOWSIL 3-8159 RF also known as Dow Corning 3-8159 RF is a two-part, room temperature curing silicone foam system.

Applications: 
  • DC 3-8159 RF Silicone Foam is designed to be dispensed and cured directly on parts to form an integrated compression gasket.  
  • Typical applications include automotive parts (e.g. front and rear light units) and domestic appliance components (e.g. dishwashers).

Typical Properties:
  • Appearance:   
  Part A: grey
  Part B: translucent
  • Viscosity (mPa.s):  
  Part A 35,000 - 75,000 
  Part B 20,000 - 70,000
  • Specific gravity at 23°C: 
  Part A 1,10
  Part B 0,99

After mixing:
  • Snap Time (sec): 2:40-3:40
  • Tack-free time (min): maximum 10
  • Flow (cm): maximum 20

Physical properties cured at 23°C and tested after 24 hours: 
  • Density (kg/m³): 300-360
  • Hardness, Shore 00: 65-70
  • Compression set 50% compression:
  22 hours at 70°C non-post-cured: 16%
  22 hours at 70°C post-cured (1h at 100°C): 5%  
  Stress-strain characteristics in compression (kPa): 150
